“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rustdestroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:19-21, ESV)

marriage

Chad Karger

The gift of marriage, designed and given by God, needs no defense. It calls for cultivating and nurturing. It is a garden that grows and thrives with the constant care and the grace of God.

Today, many are claiming to defend the idea of marriage while ignoring the reality of their own. How deep is the deceit in one's heart when we claim that God has given marriage and yet we neglect the gift itself?

A court ruling made by man has no bearing on your ability to more deeply and completely cultivate this gift God has given you. Instead of lamenting a legal declaration, honor the vow you made before God to the one you love.

Marriage, in the end, points us to Jesus, whose submission to the Father and his sacrificial death point us to God-glorifying love -- which is a beautiful circle!
